As president of the Mediterranean Scientific Association of the Environmental Protection, MESAEP (www.mesaep.org) I wish to invite you to the
16th International Symposium on Environmental Pollution and its Impact on Life in the Mediterranean Region
that will take place in
Ioannina, Greece from September 24 to 27, 2011.
MESAEP was founded in 1979 in Munich by researchers from the Mediterranean countries worked at the Institute of Ecological Chemistry of the Research Center for Environment and Health. Basic aim of MESAEP is to bring together scientists engaged in the field of environmental chemistry and technology and eco-toxicology, in order to examine the present environmental problems of the Mediterranean Region.
Every two years MESAEP organizes a symposium, where scientists from all over the world participate. For the year 2011 this symposium will be organized in Ioannina, Greece.
The Executive Committee of MESAEP has decided, in memory of Dr. Manos Lahaniatis, founding member and past president of MESAEP, to establish a scholarship award for a post-graduate student that comes from a Mediterranean country. “Manos Lahaniatis” scholarship is a €5,000 award and is intended to support the young scientists in their pursuit of continuing education.
